oh to live this...

"...the faith that surmounts the evidence and is able to warm itself at the fire of God's love, instead of having to steal love and self-acceptance from other sources, is actually the root of holiness..."

1 Peter 2:15

"For it is God's will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant
talk of foolish men."

Song lyrics that I love.....

"Rid me of myself, I belong to you....lead me to the cross"
"Your Name brings life more than the air I breathe"
"You make everything glorious and I am Yours.....what does that make me?"

Ok...the Ashevegans are checking in ...and they are all at play...I'm trying not to be jealous because I do have my fair share of "play time"....but today is whine day (ok, I've been whining for awhile)...Kat is at the beach and Buff Cyndi is playing with her grown up kids...Goodness Sakes...Dottie even saw a bear on her morning walk.....Adrianne is in Nashvegas with her honey and friends at the GMA Music Festival and having a "lake day" (tubing, skiing, jet skiing)...and all I have on the weekend agenda is a Hospital Bar-b-q.....I need a cruise director.....

Cheers to the graduates!!!

Well, by now all my friends' kids from the class of 2009 have been celebrated...they are officially graduated. I can hardly believe this group...I guess it's because I've known all these guys since they were in 3rd grade...how can they be all grown up? Now I guess that ages me...I sound (again) like my Mother.

To the graduating class of 2009 of Asheville Christian Academy ....we salute you!

Taxi driver

real temp reading today...

BECAUSE MARC'S CAR IS STILL IN THE SHOP (AND ADRIANNE'S IS FINALLY OUT BUT SHE HAS OFFICIALLY LEFT TOWN) I AM THE OFFICIAL TAXI SERVICE...A VERY CUTE TAXI SERVICE BUT NOT A VERY NICE ONE...

Today...as Miss Taxi (and I quit by the way) in the incredible Florida heat ...at

  1. 8:00 AM drove Marc to work and back home
  2. 9:40 AM drove Whitney to volunteer at the hospital and back home
  3. 11:50 AM met Adrianne at Firehouse for lunch before she left for an Auburn wknd.
  4. 2:00 PM picked Whitney up from volunteering and back home
  5. 5:50 PM went back to the hospital and picked up Marc then to the "dive shop"
  6. 5:00 PM drop Marc back off at the hospital and back home
  7. 8:00 PM picking Marc back up from the hospital...back home

Today was an easy day because yesterday we were able to pick up Adrianne's car so I did not have to drop off and pick her up from School and Whitney doesn't have volleyball practice today so I will not be making 2 trips to the School either.....ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I love my family and I love serving them...but Slowcala is full of very very slow and elderly drivers AND there are no freeways....speed limit is 45 everywhere...so for speedy gonzales here it's painful.....

Next...

Almost forgot...Miss Whitney had another perfect report card...we've now bumped her up from Honors classes to AP classes...what a brainiac! Marc always rewards his girls for good grades. His reward this time might be a little self serving tho' :) He decided they would get certified in Scuba Diving (He already has his)....the advertisment is 2 for $199..they've been talking about it for a month...both are sooooooooooooooo excited...didn't find out until they went in that in ADDITION to the certification fee/classes you MUST purchase FROM THEM and additional $800 worth of gear......the cost of rewarding good behavior has just been compromised...Mr. Miller has to rethink this one....long and hard...and his baby girl is sooooo excited...thanks to him! I'll let them figure this one out themselves....keeping the economic times in mind...thank you Mr. Obama for keeping America in the tank!

Happy BIrds

mama bird is in the tree....

baby birds on in the plant
"Buff Cyndi", Ollie and me

Today I wish my buddy "Buff Cyndi" were here...she'd be so much more happy than me and I'm happy. We discovered a few weeks ago that we were expecting....baby birds! Yep...Mama bird has made a nest in our hanging plant (boogenvalia...sorry Carol, Tricia and Dottie...I can't spell it). This nest in completely encapsulated by "nest stuff" in a circle with the exception of the hole....when we had the floods a few weeks ago we thought for sure they had drown...but today...I saw "Mama bird" flying in and out and singing in the trees....so, of course I took a picture AND made a video....Buff C would be so proud....when I was still in A-vegas she would come to workout with baby bird stories...she was always quiet and would watch them patiently...she would die to know I was watering heavily just to see if Mama would come out ....NO NOT REALLY...I was watering carefully. I hope I get to see them learn to fly...I'm growing a heart. "B-C" you'd be so proud!

Ok sorry the video won't "upload" so you'll just have to imagine the sound of a sweet little bird singing all happy up in the trees... and on the video you have to block out the sound of the leaf blower to hear the chirping...it's a way of life in FL...they mow like every other day!

Miller Bowling Fun

When I was a child I remember spending an enormous amount of time in the bowling-ally nursery....I believe it was because my Mother was on a league...she had her own ball AND bag...I think...I remember it being fun.....

It's Summer time...and my kids are home and they both want MORE things to do...they suggested bowling...I know, I couldn't believe it either...I have a stereotype in my mind of just who bowls...and all the smoke?....we went....I was wrong....This place is a fun place to hang out (smoking is illegal) AND it's cheap...good grief....$1/game? Are you kidding? And, they serve all kinds of greasy food and pitchers of drinks...and "Sutter-Home" wine (ewww)....we ended up having a blast....3 games in...we were all spent and called it a night. Marc was the leader with scores like 115 and 90 something....my highest was 91 and lowest was 77....the girls were close behind...I can't remember their scores exactly....We were right beside some professionals that had strikes, uh, like every time...but laughed at us and encouraged us when we did play well. I think we will go back! Wow, did I just say that? Hmmmm?!

beautiful art...

almost forgot...I have created more beautiful art...hahahhahaha....for your viewing pleasure...

Beach time ...oh yeah!!

Adah has alot of hot air...she blew up all the kids beach toys!

OK ...I have the dreaded appointment with the plastic surgeon to take care of the little "spot" under my eye....so, of course that meant more beach time....last week Marc's family from TN were in Daytona ...so our Miller-4 and his brother's Miller-4 were off for a day at the ocean and dinner on the Harbour....fabulous view...great music... A-W-F-U-L food...a great merlot should never be sipped from a plastic cup....never, it's just wrong!

Then, this week was our usual annual trek to Charleston....but we didn't go...our buddies in A-vegas went...and we were left behind....to make matters worse...our Gator-buddies were at Crescent Beach for the week TOO!....this was too much...so by Friday I had hatched a plan...we would just invade the Gator Beachcondo for the day...so we did....Marc took the day off and on the road we were......great view, no sun, but great music and great food!!! At dinner at Creekside, Marc and Gator Scott wanted to sit in with the band....sing a few songs and play a little guitar...they were too chicken to ask...so we just enjoyed the ambiance at the Restaurant then back at the condo....didn't want to leave that ocean-front dream home....but with our little 4-legged buddies back in Slowcala...we had too....good times were had by all!
